Module 12 - Intellectual Property Rights

What is there for to rejoice if you have the intellectual property on something? Would it be a great instrument to the economic growth of the country? Or you are just the sole beneficiary of the fruits you have reaped from what you have sowed? Explain.

Intellectual property on something can have you something to rejoice for. I believe that having intellectual property for yourself can bring you good, not only to yourself but to the economy as well. Intellectual property is owning what is really for you. It is just claiming your property as your own. Owning intellectual property can bring good to the economy as well. Because of this, taxes on intellectual property will be imposed thus can bring additional income to the economy. You are not the sole beneficiary of the fruits you have sowed. It is just natural to give back what you have earned.

Module 11 - Free Speech Issues

Facebook’s marketing director, who happens to be Mark Zuckerberg’s sister, proposed last year that banning online anonymity would help curtail cyber-bullying and Internet harassment. Then-Google CEO Eric Schmidt made a similar observation in year 2010, noting that “privacy is incredibly important” but “not the same thing as anonymity.” If banning is already imposed or will be imposed would this stop annoying comments against someone freely posted by an anonymous FB user? Is this ethical? Is this against the freedom of speech? Support your answer.

I believe that annoying other people don't bring any good to other people even to yourself. It will just bring harm to you and can cause people to hate you even more. I believe that if banning will be imposed, this would not stop but at least lessen those annoying comments posted freely against someone by an anonymous FB user. I believe that this is only ethical because those people are just someone that is annoying other people because they just want to or they have nothing to do. This is not against the freedom of speech for me. Yes, we have the freedom of speech, thus, we must use it the proper way without hurting anyone. If we just have to really express, why use alias?. Instead, just tell who you are for people to believe you.

Is it ethical to blog both awful and pleasant experiences with your ex-girlfriend / ex-boyfriend? Discuss.

Memories are something that we have to cherish while we still live. May it be bad or joyful ones, it is that the two of you encounter together. It is the memory that no one can alter. In any relationship, there are bad or happy memories that anyone may encounter.
For me, I guess it is unethical to post on blog awful experiences with ex-boyfriend/ex-girlfriend. I believe that things that are meant to be hidden must be kept hidden. Like those awful things that happened between the two of you at the past, I believe those things are some that must be hidden by the two of you even when you two broke up. A blog is something on the internet and can be accessed by anyone, thus, anyone can read this. I know that a blog is something where you can express what you really feel but not to the extent that you have to post things of your ex-boyfriend/ex-girlfriend specially if those awful things may harm or degrade one’s dignity. Posting on blog has its limitations. I know that we have the freedom to speak, to let the world know what we really feel, but we must remember that we still have to put limit on whatever action that we do for we may hurt others without us knowing.

Module 10 - Social Justice Issues

Is social justice evident in the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Corona? Discuss.

Every anomalies found, especially on the government, impeachment trial shall take place to prove your innocence. On the issue of Chief Justice Corona’s impeachment trial in relation to social justice, I guess, social justice is evident on this situation. I can say that it is evident in such a way that in this impeachment trial, anomalies have been revealed against Chief Justice Corona. Even though Corona is in higher position, they still proceed on the impeachment trial. The impeachment trial is still ongoing. Still, in every impeachment trial, you can say that the court is really debating if Corona is guilty or not.  I can say that an impeachment trial is not evident in such a way that still, you can't see clearer results of the trial. Even though impeachment trial can degrade our country because higher ranks in the economy are involved, still, this situation will happen to bring social justice among people.

Module 9 - Private Issues

Talking about privacy, how far would you go for the sake of social justice? Justify.

There are certain limitations for everything you do. Just like when you know you can’t hold on anymore, you just let your heart out. Privacy and social justice is just the same. When you talk about privacy, it is the ability to seclude yourself from the rest and only reveal selective information to people. Social justice on the other hand, is the promotion of the welfare of the people. Talking about privacy and social justice, I guess, there are limitations on how far will I go for the sake of social justice. For me, I guess, it will be that time when I have to swallow my pride for the sake of others. Also, when I know that if a certain act of mine though it contradicts what privacy really is, but I know that it will bring happiness or goodness to the people around me, I guess, I  will go that far for the sake of social justice. What I am trying to say here is that, how far will you go for a certain act will vary on certain circumstances in life for the sake of yourself and the people that may be affected of your own doings.
